Explore digital fabrication and parametric software through Task A: volumes and 3D printing techniques with a focus on additive and subtractive processes. Task B: explore surfaces and laser cutting techniques. Understand the iterative nature of digital design and work through a workflow from design to physical outcome.

additive and subtractive

 3D printing techniques

The Task A was to create 3 geometries for 3D printing through an iterative process. Explore additive and subtractive volumes through a parametric software: Grasshopper. Then refined them and used to create waffle structures.

Radial waffle and XY waffle

surfaces and laser cutting techniques

The Task B was to create two waffle structures. This radial waffle uses a refined version iteration 1 and XY waffle uses iteration 2. Explore how radial and waffles made change to the structure and space.
